Chips are one of my weaknesses. If I have a bowl of chips before me, I’ll eat all of it. But, they’re not the most nutritious snacks around.
It led me to investigate and figure out an alternative to cooking healthier chips that tasted just as good without the excess oil and other refined ingredients.
The black chip beans make a delicious snack that is appealing and tastes delicious! The chips made of black beans are made of black bean flour, water, a tiny little oil, and salt.
While the ingredients are basic, they are nevertheless incredibly tasty crisp, and crunchy. They’re ideal for serving queso, guacamole, or whatever you’d like!
The chip made of black beans is packed with fiber and protein, making them an excellent alternative to the traditional packet of chips made from potatoes.
Additionally, the chips are baked in an oven and not deep-fried. This means they don’t have a ton of oil!

How to Create The Black Bean Flour
Most grocery stores carry black beans in stock, an essential ingredient in this recipe. If you’re confronted by a concern about the absence of black bean flour in your local store, There are several ways to make the ingredient.
For making black bean flour, all you’ll require is dried beans and an ultra-power blender or food processor.
Simply add the beans to your food processor, and process until you’ve got an extremely fine flour. There may be black specks in the mix, But don’t be concerned. These are just the skin of the black bean and are edible.
The flour of black beans is naturally gluten-free. This makes this food ideal for those with a gluten allergy. This is a huge plus!
What seasonings should I Apply?
I would prefer to use using a small amount of salt to spice the chips. They’re incredibly flavorful by themselves, however, should you want to spice the chips up, there are a few different flavors you could explore.
To add a little Mediterranean taste, you can try an omelet of garlic powder, oregano, and a bit of basil.
If you want a spicy Mexican recipe, add onion powder, chili powder, and garlic powder.
You could also add cumin and smoked paprika or even mix them with nutmeg to create an edgy, spiced taste.
The black bean chips can be thought of as a blank page, So feel at liberty to create your own ideas and use whatever seasonings you’d prefer!
What is the best way to use The Chips?
I like serving black bean chips with freshly prepared Guacamole. You can, however, serve them with salsa or sour cream.

How to Create Black Bean Chips
Assemble your ingredients!
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a mixing bowl, mix black bean flour and salt.
Incorporate oil into the dry mix and mix to combine.
Mix in the water until you get a smooth mix.
Place the baking sheet on an inch of parchment paper.
Place the batter you’ve prepared onto a baking sheet (about 1/2 tbsp for each chip, based on the size you prefer). It is important to leave room between the chips since your batter is likely to spread.
The chips are baked for about 10 minutes. Remove them from the oven, and then flip them with a fork or a small spatula.
Continue baking for 8-10 minutes.
The chips should be completely cool before serving.
For the guacamole recipe, smash the avocado using the juice of a lemon, salt, and pepper in the bowl. Add onion, jalapenos, and cherry tomatoes. Stir in cilantro, and then mix to combine.
Serve freshly baked black beans with guacamole, and have fun!

To make the black beans chips.
- 1/4 cup flour made from black beans
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup of water
For the Guacamole
- 1 small avocado, pitted
- 2 Tbsp chopped onion
- 1 jalapeno chopped
- 4 cherry tomatoes to be chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Pepper and salt, according to your taste
- Chopped cilantro, as desired
- Prepare oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a mixing bowl, mix black bean flour with salt. Add oil, and stir until combined.
- Mix in the water until you get a smooth mix.
- Prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- Drop the batter you’ve prepared onto a baking sheet (about 1/2 tbsp per chip, based on the size you’d like). Be sure to leave a distance between chips since your batter is likely to spread.
- Baking the chips is about 10 mins. Remove them from the oven and turn them over with a fork or a small spatula.
- Continue baking for an additional approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
- The chips should be completely cool before serving.
- Make the Guacamole. Put the avocado in a bowl and crush the avocado using the juice of a lemon, salt, and pepper. Add onion, jalapenos, and cherry tomatoes. Stir in cilantro, and then mix to combine.
- Serve and have fun!
