Sweet One Bowl Cinnamon Rice Porridge for Breakfast
Rice Porridge …
To be honest I do not really eat that stuff very often for breakfast. I didn’t really eat breakfast much to be exact. Until now. Until I’ve learned to eat breakfast and that breakfast is very important for us. Many people have said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And I’ve never considered that as a true. I was like ,,Meh, I don’t need breakfast. Coffee is my only friend for breakfast.”
Only sometimes I would eat something for breakfast, like my favorites Vegetable Breads, toast with Avocado, some smoothie (like this one which is my dad’s one of the favorite smoothies), some pancakes or this Milky Rice Porridge, which I really eat for breakfast just once in a while. Maybe really just once in a year. I know only one person who can eat this Rice Porridge almost for every single breakfast. My the most favorite and the nicest person in my life, Adam.
And I guess I know why he love it so much. Because the Rice Porridge is:
- very simple and easy
- sooo quick to make
- it’s a one bowl breakfast
- it’s yummy and satisfying
- perfect when you like something sweet for breakfast
- you only need 4 to 5 things for it
And also because this Rice Porridge reminds him of his childhood when his grandpa was making that for him and his siblings.
And of course you know boys and men how they just ,,love” to cook. Many of them really do, like my dad. He’s the greatest chef in our family. He cooks even better and more delicious food than my mom. Can you believe that? My dad can make the biggest dinner, which smells amazing, even when the fridge is completely empty. I honestly don’t know how he’s doing that. I personally can’t cook something before I don’t have everything that I need for some recipe in a fridge. But some men don’t like to cook or don’t even know how to cook.
But I have to say that Adam really loves to cook. Many times we are cooking together something good for a dinner. But sometimes he comes and say: ,,Today I’ll cook dinner”, and mostly every time it’s very good. Mostly he cooks very easy and quick meals which are very delicious. If he would write a cookbook it would be called, Cooking with microwave”. 😃 He likes everything very simple, easy and quick. Like apples, that’s his favorite. If anybody would be able to live just on apples it would be him. Ha-ha. I’m serious. Two or sometimes three apples per days, it’s his normal daily routine.
But back to the Rice Porridge. Because I’m so proud of it how simple and easy it is to make it. And … I’m just very happy to show you Adam’s most favorite breakfast.
And you just need a few things for it:
- white rice
- cinnamon or cocoa
Yep, that’s it. Sweet, right? Yeah … it actually is Sweet 🙂
Cinnamon Rice PorridgePrint Recipe
- 4 Tbsp White Rice
- 1 cup Soy or Rice Milk
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- pinch of Salt
- Cinnamon for topping
Blend the white rice in a small blender into smooth powder.
Add the milk into small pot and bring it to boil. Add the powdered rice, sugar and a pinch of salt. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens to the consistency you desire. But not too much. The mixture get very thick when it’s chilled.
Add the butter before the porridge is done and stir well.
Serve with a cinnamon, cocoa, honey, some extra butter or anything you love on top.
