Tips For Making Fluffy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Begin by using butter! Use the butter at room temperature. Softened butter should be able to cream with sugar. This is the very first and the most crucial step.
Make sure you use the right sugar: you can pick between brown and white sugar. White sugar helps to spread the white sugar, while brown sugar will add more flavor. In this recipe, I made use of white sugar. However, you could use brown sugar or a mix of both.
Include eggs: The egg isn’t there only to provide fluffy. The egg functions as a binder, and it will give the perfect texture while keeping everything to each other.
Chill the dough for cookies: you can either chill the dough in a refrigerator for 30 minutes or chill the cookie dough at room temperature for 10 minutes in the freezer prior to baking. Whichever you choose to use is the best. This will help ensure that the cookies remain in shape and will prevent them from spreading too widely.
Take the cookie scoop: I recommend using a 1 1/2 tablespoon scoop of cookies to create the perfect cookie. If you own a larger or smaller scoop, it is fine. Be sure to watch the cookies to ensure that they don’t overbake or burn. They will be finished when the tops are solid as well as the edges turn slightly golden brown.
Pro tip: If you’re looking for perfectly round cookies, you can use a spoon to form the cookies as they have come out from the oven.
Chocolate chips: this isn’t required; however, once you take them out of the oven, you are able to add extra chocolate chips over the top. They’ll melt into the cookie, making them look even more beautiful and delicious. Additionally, a little extra chocolate will always be a great thing.
How to Correct Common Cookie Errors
Cookies should not be smooth: chill the dough of cookies in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Cookies don’t spread at all: too much flour inside the cookies may result in the cookies not spreading in any way. If you manage to put in too many flours, then press the cookies down using the back of the spoon prior to baking, and then flatten them. To avoid packing excessive flour, make sure you level your flour.
Cookies are soft: If the dough becomes too soft and cannot hold any shape, mix in an additional tablespoon of flour until it is a perfect consistency. The mixture should be slightly firm but still able in a shape that can be held when the ball is formed.
