We’ve all experienced that moment when we’re preparing to cook our most loved recipe, and we reach for brown sugar only to discover that it’s transformed into…a brick. We’ve got a fantastic technique to help bring that brown sugar back into its original form.
Place the sugar in a bowl that can be microwaved and place a damp towel over it. Microwave for short bursts of 20 seconds each.
After 20 seconds, you should check to see if the sugar has become soft. If it’s not, continue to microwave it for 20 seconds until it’s at the level of softness you want.

Step 7: Once your cookies have cooled, remove them from the fridge and then frost them with a small number of sprinkles and icing.
Return your cookies to the fridge for about 15 minutes to allow the icing to dry completely before eating.
No-Bake Sugar Cookies

The no-bake sugar cookies are made from brown sugar. They are delicious!
For the no-bake sugar cookie:
- Half cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened butter softened
- 1 cup condensed sweetened milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup sprinkles, plus more for decorating
To make the frosting:
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 2 – 3 tablespoons of water
Place an uncut piece of parchment on the cookie sheet.
Combine the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl using a wooden spoon until it becomes smooth and fluffy.
Add the flour, condensed milk, and vanilla extract, and stir until completely blended.
Mix in the sprinkles.
The dough should be placed in the refrigerator and let chill for 30 mins.
Once the dough has been chilled, take it out of the fridge and, using a teaspoon make small balls of dough and place them 1 inch apart on the cookie sheet.
The dough balls can be flattened using your fingers until they’re even. Put them back in the fridge for another 30 mins to cool.
Make your icing: in a bowl, you can add a few drops of liquid to the sugar icing and combine. The icing should be smooth and thick.
When your cookies are chilled, remove them from the fridge and then frost them with a small number of sprinkles and icing. Place your cookies back in the refrigerator for 15 minutes so the icing can dry completely before eating.
Store your fresh cookies in an airtight container within the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.
